For more than 40 years, the musicians have been giving concerts with rituals that have become no less ecstatic over time. When they formed a post-punk band in New York in 1982, they had no idea that they would experience an unexpected mainstream success during the indie wave in the 90s. While the band was always mixed with different individual performers, the group’s founder, Michael Gira as singer, songwriter and mastermind, was the only constant.
