Resistance

During the Second World War and the occupation of France by the German Empire, the orthodox Jew Marcel Marceau (Jesse Eisenberg) from Strasbourg, who was actually called Marcel Mangel and later became known as a pantomime, became involved under the influence of his cousin Georges Loinger (Géza Röhring) and of his brother Simon (Félix Moati) in the resistance of France. As a young man, Marceau trained as a pantomime to help thousands of orphans whose parents fell victim to the Holocaust during the war to help them escape the Nazi race laws and concentration camps. His own father also died in the hell of Auschwitz, which was an additional motivation for Marceau. The mime, who spoke fluent English, German and French, later joined the French army in the fight against the Germans.
