The drug lord Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) has built a small but fine empire for marijuana in London. From there it is easy for the Americans to distribute the material across the entire continent. In the meantime, however, he has reached a point in his life where he prefers to devote himself to his wife Rosalind (Michelle Dockery) in order to lead a legal life in the British upper class – but for this Mickey first needs a buyer for his plantations. The biggest contender is the filthy rich Matthew Berger (Jeremy Strong), who offers a lot of money for the well-hidden and distributed properties all over the country, but also requires certain guarantees. When half the underworld of London gets wind of it, not only Mickey, but especially his right hand Ray (Charlie Hunnam) has his hands full. The triad boss Lord George (Tom Wu), the crazy Dry Eye (Henry Golding) and the greedy investigator Fletcher (Hugh Grant) are all right to get involved in the million dollar business.
